Maité Marin-Mera

Bio: Maité is a 4th year BME student pursuing a chemistry minor. After graduating she hopes to jump right into industry and maybe get an MBA somewhere down the line. Her other involvements include the Yellow Jacket Marching Band, SHPE, GT Student Ambassadors, and Hispanic Recruitment Team. She loves to spend her time outdoors and regularly go hiking.

 

 

Shaefali Padiyar

Bio: Shaefali is a third year with a pre-health concentration and is pursuing a certificate in finance. She is interested in cardiovascular tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, and has conducted research in those areas since her first year. She hopes to use her knowledge as a BME to treat patients as a cardiovascular surgeon. Outside of SAB, she is involved in Alpha Gamma Delta, Women’s Recruitment Team, and For The Kids at Georgia Tech. A fun fact: she has witnessed an open heart “Humpty Dumpty” surgery live at the Cleveland Clinic!

 

 

Rachit Kumar

Bio: Rachit is in his 4th year of BME on the pre-health track. He is currently hoping to pursue an MD-PhD combined degree after graduating from Georgia Tech. He is actively involved in research on and off campus, and his current research interests lie in the intersection of computer science and medicine, especially as it relates to machine learning and artificial intelligence, as well as computational neuroscience. In his free time, Rachit enjoys playing strategy games, hanging out with friends, and reading short stories.

 

 

Chimara Good

Bio: Chimara is a senior Dual Degree BME and Physics with a minor in Philosophy and a minor in HMS. Chimara will be graduating this May and hopes to work in consulting in the health and medicine sector of a major company. Chimara is also in the Platt Lab exploring how liver inflammation impacts sickle cell disease. Outside of BME, Chimara is a woman of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc, enjoys soccer, and watching a good movie.

 

 

Sondos Alnamos

Bio: Sondos is a Biomedical Engineering student with minors in Industrial Design and Biology. She has done research for a gap year and is planning to work in industry for a couple of years before eventually getting her MBA and PhD in public health. During her free time, Sondos enjoys drawing, painting, and doing outdoor activities such as biking, caving, hiking, and rock climbing.

 

 

Brielle Lonsberry

Bio: Brielle is a third year from West Palm Breach, Florida pursuing a BME major with a Leadership Studies minor. Upon graduation, Brielle hopes to enter the healthcare management field before going back to school. Brielle is also currently involved with the Student Government Association as Vice President of Academic Affairs and holds multiple leadership positions within her Greek chapter. She pretends to be funny and loves to travel!

 

 

Bailey Moore

Bio: Bailey is a 2nd year BME undergraduate pursuing a pre-law minor. After graduation, she plans on working in healthcare accessibility via patent law and advocacy and will likely attend law school. She is involved on campus in SAA and her sorority, Alpha Gamma Delta. She loves her dog Oreo, is a people person, and is a fan of coffee. She is excited to be one of our newest members and to contribute to a positive environment in one of the nation’s top BME programs! Go Jackets!

 

 

Matthew Ha

Bio: Matthew is a 2nd year pursuing a major in BME and minor in Korean. Currently, he is doing research involved with electroencephalography (EEG) and traumatic brain injury. On campus, he is engaged with GT Seoulstice, Molecular Gastronomy, and BME Mentoring. His favorite pastimes are listening to new genres of music, playing chess, and watching chiropractic videos online.

 

 

James (Jimmy) Hankish

Bio: Jimmy is a 4th year BME PreMed student pursuing a minor in Spanish. After graduating he hopes to attend medical school to eventually become an anesthesiologist. He is also involved in BME PALs, uBEAM, Greek Life, Residence Life, and the Emory Winship Cancer Institute. During his free time, he loves to travel and explore different types of food.

 

 

Keval Bollavaram

Bio: Keval is a 3rd year pre-med BME undergraduate pursuing a certificate in finance. After graduating, he hopes to attend medical school. In addition to BMED SAB, he volunteers at the Emory Winship Cancer Institute, conducts research as part of the Platt Lab, and analyzes the markets as a senior analyst in Investments Committee. When he is not in class or studying for the MCAT, he enjoys playing tennis, managing his own investment portfolio, and playing a bit of poker.

 

 

Navya Katragadda

Bio: Navya is a 2nd year with a pre-health concentration. Her interests lie primarily in regenerative medicine and is interested to get involved in research. After graduation, she plans to attend medical school in hopes of being a gynecologist. Outside of SAB, she is involved with Hall council and GT Seoulstice. In her free time, she enjoys dancing and playing guitar.
